SCR Guntur is setting up a care center in Rail Mahal

The South Central Railway in Guntur has set up a COVID care center with 70 beds on the Rail Mahal site near Guntur station (west side).

Railway department head A. Mohana Raja, collector Vivek Yadav, joint collector AS Dinesh Kumar and joint collector (development) P. Prasanthi were present.

Of the 70 beds, 16 beds are supplied with oxygen and nine beds are equipped with oxygen concentrators arranged by the collector. The arrangements include piping and humidifiers. The railways said 40% of the facility is reserved for staff / retired railroad workers and their family members.

The center will act as a retreat for the Government General Hospital in Guntur. After reporting patients and triaging, patients with mild illnesses are admitted to Rail Mahal and, in the case of serious illnesses, referred to GGH.

In addition, patients who have undergone treatment at GGH and are improving would be moved to Rail Mahal for the GGH beds to be cleared.
