CITU Vizianagaram’s general secretary TV Ramana called on the state government on Tuesday to submit medical test reports for COVID-19 within 24 hours so that patients could be treated in a timely manner.
Mr Ramana claimed that it took the health department more than a week to notify people of their COVID-19 test results and said the delay had proven costly.
Together with other CITU leaders and activists, he held a protest at the Collectorate here on Tuesday. Mr Ramana also sought to appoint additional doctors and medical staff to treat patients in COVID-19 hospitals and care centers.
“A toll-free number should be set up to get information about hospital bed availability. COVID vaccine teams should make door-to-door visits as many elderly and physically challenged people are unable to come to PHCs for vaccination, ”he added.
