CM focuses on creating working days under NREGS, CM tells Collectors

Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said 20 crore working days were available for workers under NREGS and urged collectors to take full advantage of the window so workers can earn a living during the pandemic.

During the weekly review with collectors and officers, Jagan Mohan Reddy said the government had set a goal of completing 16 crore man-days by the end of June and only 4.57 crore had been completed so far.

He said the work on 10,929 sachivayalams was still ongoing and wanted all of the work to be completed. 50 percent of the 10,408 RBKs have been completed, he said, urging collectors to focus on completing the projects. The Chief Minister also wanted them to focus on YSR health clinics as most of the 8,585 planned clinics were not yet completed.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said the government is determined to convert Anganwadis into YSR preschools, saying they have not yet found places to build schools in 1,230 urban areas.

House Site Pattas

He praised the collectors’ efforts to gather land for home sites. Pattas were still to be given for 4,220 Tidco homes. Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that 1.19 lakh beneficiaries have been identified for home locations and that officials need to start giving them pattas.

Of the 15.60 lakh pattas issued in 2020, 15.10 lakh were in urban areas, he said, urging officials to make sure the floor plans come with all amenities like drinking water, paved roads, common areas , Schools and bus stops are being developed.
