AP Telugu Academy is supposed to operate from Tirupati

The Andhra Pradesh Telugu Academy is to function as the headquarters from Tummalagunta in Tirupati. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has assigned a building to the academy.

The chairman of the academy, Dr. Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvati, had written to the TTD to apply for the allotment of a building with all facilities free of charge, and the TTD had allotted the academy a two-story building along with a godown for three years for a license fee of £ 10,000 per month.

Although the allotment was made last year, the academy was unable to take possession of the building due to the academy’s non-sanctioning of funds and non-compliance with certain formalities. According to the TTD rules, the licensee is obliged to take possession of the assigned premises within 15 days of receipt of the orders and to pay the license fees for six months, apart from the execution of a certificate.

With the delay in sanctioning funds, Dr. Parvati took time to pay a £ 60,000 deposit for the license fee and allowed them to take possession of the premises in the meantime.

The TTD feared that an exemption in this case would take precedence over others. It was also found that the letter did not explicitly specify the date or the period for the deposit of the deposit, which would raise objections during the annual audit.

After discussing the issue in depth, TTD allowed the academy to pay the deposit to a driver at a later date so that it could be deposited within six months from the date the building was occupied and the license fee charged from last November.

The Academy’s plans to organize a grand inauguration of its headquarters have been subdued in the face of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
