Oxygen bottles seized – The Hindu

The company had six cylinders (with a capacity of 10.6 liters).

Oxygen cylinders valued at £ 2.10,000 were seized Tuesday during a raid on a private company by DCA officials in Visakhapatnam, Marripalem.

Joint Director and Assistant Director, DCA, Visakhapatnam ordered a deception operation based on an indication that the Coromandel roller mills off the National Highway in Marripalem were conducting illegal sales and black marketing of medical oxygen.

When D. Sunitha, Drug Inspector Vigilance, contacted the company’s oxygen representative, gave her the code ‘00019’ and asked her to collect the cylinder from her company by revealing the code. When Ms. Sunitha went to the company premises, the company representative asked for her details and code. He asked her to pay £ 35,000 and he gave a bill for it called Sangeetha (under which name she had booked the cylinder). The company had six cylinders (with a capacity of 10.6 liters).

Since the company does not have a drug license, the six cylinders were confiscated by Drug Inspector Gajuwaka, N. Kalyani, under the guise of Panchanama and Form-16, owned by Naveen Gupta, the company’s director.
