After the Ruia incident, the county government rushed to set up a war room to monitor the needs, supplies and consumption of oxygen in various public and private hospitals in the Chittoor district.
The control room, which was set up in accordance with COVID Instant Orders 119, will continuously monitor oxygen data in the district, said Joint Collector (Health) S. Veerabrahmam.
He attended a meeting with Revenue Divisional Officer Kanaka Narasa Reddy here Tuesday and directed special officers to monitor oxygen-assisted beds and patient inflow / outflow. Oxygen is currently being supplied from a facility in Yerpedu, while two more facilities in Chittoor and Vadamalapet will be operational shortly.
Pratap Reddy, General Manager of the District Industries Center (DIC), will oversee the arrival of liquefied gas from Visakhapatnam under the supervision of Assistant Collector Abhishek Kumar. Mr. Narasa Reddy directed the Tahsildars and Deputy Tahsildars (Civil Supplies) to be available 24/7 to provide real-time numbers to administrators. He warned that a failure by officials would be strictly regulated under the Civil Protection Act.
