The public warned against writing unverified posts

Chittoor collector M. Hari Narayanan has warned the public not to post / forward unverified posts on social media on topics related to COVID-19, including vaccine availability and remdesivir drug use.

The warning follows a fictional post in the media claiming that the drug will be made available in the Collectorate building. “The drug will only be available in hospitals and will only be given under medical supervision,” he said.

He warned the public not to believe in hearsay or unverified social media posts. He appealed to people not to secure Remdesivir at a higher price on the black market and instead pay the Challan for the prescribed £ 1,300 per dose fee at the District Collectorate by showing the Aadhaar copy and doctor’s prescription.

Meanwhile, the county government made extensive arrangements to give vaccine doses on Saturday as 6,000 doses of Covaxin and 20,000 doses of Covishield reached the Chittoor district. Covishield will ship to 100 rural and 27 urban PHCs, while Covaxin will ship to 31 PHCs.
