Revised business hours in post offices

Business hours at the Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle post offices have been changed from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to the general public in light of the curfew imposed by the state government due to the prevailing pandemic.

In a statement Thursday, Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh Circle, M. Venkateswarlu said people should take note of the changes and use the postal services, taking all precautions such as using mask and hand sanitizer and maintaining physical distance should be taken.

He said transactions such as posting registered mail, express mail items and withdrawing cash from savings accounts are allowed during business hours. Customers could also prepay on RD, PLI and PPF accounts if needed, he said.

However, the Postmaster General said people should refrain from small transactions given the pandemic situation. You could download the IPPB app and the PLI app to use India Post’s online savings / insurance products, he added.
