Research station becomes COVID Care Center

The Horticultural Research Station campus in Anantharajupalle in the Mandal of Railway Kodur has been converted into a COVID Care Center by the state government in order to create more care centers on site and contain the spread of the pandemic.

Since the campus is expected to meet the requirements of the southern mandals of the Kadapa district, the district administration has set up infrastructures such as drinking water, accommodation and seating for the patients and their companions at a location 100 m from the main building. It was also decided to declare the surrounding area as a “safety zone” in order to avoid crowding in and around the center.

Superintendent of Police KKN Anburajan, who inspected the center on Thursday, instructed Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rajampeta) Sivabhaskar Reddy to ensure security for the regular guard duty at the main entrance. He later went to the CCTV control room in Rajampeta and inspected the implementation of the curfew in the city. He directed the police to ensure that the hotels, restaurants and retail stores remain closed until 6 a.m.

Kadapa district reported up to 1,130 cases on Thursday.
