BJP for investigating third party deaths in the Anantapur government. Hospitals

Bharatiya Janata State official D. Venkateswara Reddy has requested that the state government order a third party investigation into the deaths of patients in three government-run hospitals in Anantapur District after the Secretary of State was informed of an investigation report on the three Cases of oxygen starvation in which 22 people died.

Mr Venkateswara Reddy said Thursday that no local official should be involved in the investigation ordered by the Andhra Pradesh Supreme Court as it would undermine the purpose of the investigation. “If the oxygen coordinators or a district official are asked to pick up the tube, the truth is unlikely to come out,” he said, wanting a state official or team to investigate the incidents at GGH, Anantapur, government hospital. Hindupur and Cancer Hospital, Anantapur.

MLA gheraoed

Meanwhile, Communist Party of India workers have asked Kadiri MLA P. Venkata Sidda Reddy at Kadiri Hospital, where eight people have died in the past two days, for better treatment for COVID-19 patients. The MLA had gone to the hospital that morning to review the situation and on his return CPI staff stopped his car. The police intervened and cleared the way for the MLA.

In a press release, the CPI Secretary of State expressed concern about the number of deaths in the district due to inadequate monitoring of oxygen supply. He wanted suppliers’ food bills to be cleared immediately during the last wave of COVID-19 so they could now provide the right food to patients.
