The by-election to the seat of Tirupati Lok Sabha on April 17 was made necessary by the death of the YSRC’s Balli Durgaprasad in September 2020

After the first round of by-elections in the constituency of Tirupati (SC) Lok Sabha, the ruling YSR congress established a clear lead of over 14,000 votes.

YSRC candidate M Gurumurthy approved 28,547 votes, while Panabaka Lakshmi of the TDP received 14,451 votes in the first round, according to the electoral commission on Sunday.

BJP candidate K Ratna Prabha, a retired IAS commissioner, administered 2,300 votes, while the Chinta Mohan of Congress received 375 votes.
