The AP State Power Employees’ Joint Action Committee (APSPE-JAC) has appealed to the government to recognize the energy sector as an essential sector and the electricity workers as front line workers / corona warriors in order to bolster their morale.
In a representation at APTransco CMD, JAC officials P. Chandra Sekhar, M. Veda Vyasa Rao and B. Sai Krishna said that the electricity workers were doing their jobs around the clock during the COVID crisis, and many of them because of the infection .
They urged management to allow staff rotation, limit attendance to 50%, and allow work from home as much as possible. They also wanted node officers to be appointed at headquarters and at the county / plant level to solve employee problems.
