The national president of the TDP, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, condemned the arrest.

Former Ponnur MLA and chairman of Sangam Dairy Dhullipalla Narendra Kumar was arrested on April 23 by a team from the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) police in the village of Chintalapudi, Ponnur Mandal.

TDP national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu condemned the arrest, saying a series of arrests of TDP leaders demonstrated the YSRCP government’s vindictiveness.

A group of 100 police officers rushed to Mr. Narendra’s home and took him into custody. A notification was sent pursuant to Section 50 (2) CrPC.

Previously, the ACB had registered Sections 418, 419 and 420 cases against Mr Narendra, who is expected to be produced in the ACB Court in Vijayawada.
