‘Open COVID control rooms at SVIMS’

TTD executive officer and chairman of the AP COVID command control center KS Jawahar Reddy instructed Chittoor district collector M. Hari Narayanan to open control rooms at the state COVID hospital that operate from the SVIMS campus.

Review the meeting

After being named head of the state-level control center, Dr. Jawahar Reddy held a high-level review meeting with officials here on Tuesday, during which he not only oversaw the opening of control rooms at the hospital but also wished the appointment of a control center officer to oversee COVID services for affected individuals.

He urged district officials to use Sri Padmavathi Nilayam in Tiruchanur, Vishnu Nivasam and Srinivasam rest houses in Tirupati for isolation services, similar to last year. Dr. Reddy also instructed TTD officials to hand over the second and third poultry behind Tirupati station to the district administration to use for COVID relief services.

Since there are 450 beds in SVIMS, Dr. Reddy that the ongoing construction work on the fifth floor will be accelerated. He also made efforts to convert SV Ayurvedic Hospital to cater to the emergency situation and wanted all beds to be used for this purpose and gave the medical staff appropriate instructions to work in three shifts.

Screening of tourists

When Mr Hari Narayanan requested the TTD to deliver food packages for those housed in the quarantine centers, Dr. Jawahar Reddy immediately given appropriate instructions. TTD’s additional executive director, AV Dharma Reddy, said there are strict norms in place to check the health of devotees visiting Tirumala.
