“Promise fulfilled”

“I am delighted that all the promises made in Navaratnalu concern the farmers and we have held the farmers in hand from providing seeds to selling their crops. I think we have implemented every promise we made to farmers. I urge all farmers to register the details in E-Crop as it will make it easier to access all systems. I urge all farmers to provide details of the harvest patterns in Kharif, ”said Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Prime Minister stated that there were four reasons for farmers ‘difficulties and said the government was determined to alleviate farmers’ suffering. The government has already paid all arrears, he said.

“The well-being of the state is linked to the well-being of the farmers and farm workers. If the farmer is well, the farm workers will be happy. A recent FAO study showed that 62% of the population in India are still dependent on agriculture. I am happy that we did our best to improve farmers’ lives. We are crediting the interest-free subsidy amount of 128.47 crore directly to the accounts of 6.30 lakh farmers. So far we have given 61.22 lakh farmers 1,132.54 crore as an interest-free subsidy. If we take the amount credited on Tuesday, it is almost 1,300 crore. I made these decisions after seeing the farmers’ difficulties during my padayatra, ”he said.

Agriculture Minister K. Kanna Babu, Special Chief Secretary Poonam Malakondaiah and Secretary (Marketing) Y. Madhusudana Reddy were present.
