Arja Srikanth, the state’s COVID nodal officer, said the government is increasing treatment capacity in the state as the number of infections increases.
He said that as of Monday, 7,535 patients had been admitted to COVID hospitals across the state and 35,465 were in domestic isolation and monitored by doctors.
He said 1,686 patients were in COVID care centers and 3,665 were being treated with the help of oxygen supplies and ventilators.
Rumors excluded
The COVID Command and Control Center said in a separate press release that a person who tests positive after vaccination is only affected because of the infection and not because of the vaccination.
“Both Covaxin and Covishield do not produce a positive test result. If a person is tested after vaccination and the RTPCR test turns positive, it means that the person has the disease, ”the press release said.
It was also suggested that fever after vaccination is not a cause for concern and is a common reaction that could be treated with 650 mg paracetamol pill.
