Five held for disfigurement of the Ambedkar statue

Five teenagers were found on Friday in connection with the disfigurement of a statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar arrested in Patha Kottam village under Kotananduru police lines in East Godavari district. The incident reportedly took place on the night of April 12th.

In a press conference, Peddapuram told DSP A. Srinivasa Rao that it was an intentional act. “The five young people have the statue of Dr. Ambedkar deliberately disfigured with stones on the night of April 12th to take revenge on her rivals in the village. They were identified as K. Sairam, K. Anveshu, KR Subramanya Ganesh, A. Srinivas and K. Sivaji from the same village, ”said Srinivasa Rao, adding that after celebrating a birthday, the group resorted to the act of one among them.

“The young people were arrested on Friday and cases were recorded against them. They were produced in a local court on Friday. An investigation is in progress, ”he said.
