Former CBI official errors for not considering the intelligence report on the murder of Vivekananda Reddy

AB Venkateswara Rao writes a letter to the director of the Central Agency about the sensational case

Former secret service director general AB Venkateswara Rao has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to collect the intelligence report on the murder of former minister and MP YS Vivekananda Reddy.

The former MP was found in a pool of blood at his home in Pulivendula, Kadapa district, on the night of March 14, 2019.

Rumors spread that Mr. Reddy, the brother of former Prime Minister YS Rajashekara Reddy, died of cardiac arrest and also an accidental death (caused by a fall in the bathroom). However, the doctors confirmed that injuries were found on the body that caused death.

The local police registered one case and it was later referred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Following a written petition from the victim’s family members, the case was transferred to CBI in March last year.

Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, Sunitha, expressed concern about the slow pace of investigation and the fact that she had not booked the culprits responsible for her father’s death. Political party leaders asked the government why the murder of Uncle YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s uncle had been pending for two years.

In a letter to the CBI director and joint director, Venkateswara Rao said the AP Intelligence Department used its staff to gather information that was shared with investigators on the same day of the crime.

“A police chief from the secret service and a security guard visited the site before the local police even reached the scene to gather information about the death. However, family members, including a MP, did not allow them to enter the house, ”Venkateswara Rao said.

“A few months later, I contacted the CBI officer monitoring the investigation into the murder of Mr. Vivekananda Reddy by phone and tried to pass on the information about the sensational case. The CBI officer said he would take the information for the intelligence workers, but there was no response. I contacted the officer twice, but there was no action, ”said Venkateswara Rao.

“It was surprising that the CBI team investigating the murder case had no interest in it when a DGP officer who was acting as DG Intelligence at the time the crime occurred spoke up about information to resolve the sensational one If that was still unsolved, ”said the senior policeman.

Mr. Venkateswara Rao appealed to the CBI to collect the intelligence files on the murder of the former MP and to investigate the officials concerned in order to resolve the case at the earliest.
