Foolproof security for Bypoll

All arrangements for the smooth running of the by-election in the Tirupati constituency have been made under the watchful eye of a large group of police officers stationed in all constituencies of the assembly that are part of the constituency.

In addition to policemen from the Tirupati Urban Police District, members of the central paramilitary forces were deployed in the polling stations of the Tirupati, Satyavedu and Srikalahasti constituencies, which fall in the Chittoor district.

There are 782 polling stations in these segments alone, while the others are in the four constituencies of Sullurpet, Venkatagiri, Gudur and Sarvepalle in the adjacent Nellore district.

Central forces such as CISF and CRPF were deployed at the polling stations identified as sensitive, while clout, special clout and quick reaction teams will be on the move between the polling stations.

“The mobile armed forces are fully equipped and can reach any sensitive point within two or three minutes of receiving an alarm,” said the Superintendent of Police (Tirupati Urban), chap. Venkata Appala Naidu.

Surveillance remains high as there are CCTV cameras, body-worn cameras, and drone cameras, depending on the requirement and depending on the sensitivity of the location.

Mr Naidu appealed to the public to vote 100 or notify the department on WhatsApp number 8099999977 should any unpleasant activities such as appeasement attempts or arrogant behavior by anyone occur.

Section 144 of the IPC and Section 30 of the Police Act remain jammed near the polling stations.

Mr Naidu warned the rumors, either verbally or via social media, of dire consequences. Similarly, he warned anti-social elements against harsh actions if they were due to violent and inappropriate behavior near the polling stations.
