The second wave of COVID-19 is spreading rapidly in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts, according to health officials.
568 positive cases were recorded in Srikakulam district on Thursday, bringing the total number of active cases to 2,721 in the district. Of these, 373 are being treated in hospitals and COVID care centers, while the rest are in domestic isolation.
248 new cases were registered in Vizianagaram District, bringing the total active cases to 927.
Srikakulam collector J. Nivas and Vizianagaram collector M. Hari Jawaharlal conducted reviews of the situation and decided to raise awareness of the need to wear masks and pursue social distancing.
