1,800 beds with oxygen system at GGH-K ready

East Godavari collector D. Muralidhar Reddy said Friday that Government General Hospital (GGH-Kakinada) has been designated as a COVID-19 hospital, where normal services other than gynecology and pediatrics would cease from Monday.

Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Muralidhar said, “As of Friday, three hospitals have been declared COVID-19 hospitals and GGH-Kakinada will start operating on Monday. GGH-Kakinada is equipped with 1,800 beds with oxygen. “Currently the utilization of the COVID beds at GGH-K is 25%.

“We are ready to handle the surge in COVID-19 cases and have alerted the authorities at KIMS and Rajamahendravaram District Hospital to prepare to offer COVID-19 treatment in the coming days. A total of 20,000 house insulation kits are also available in the district to cover those who are in house insulation. ”
