Ambedkar’s contributions were celebrated on his birthday

The celebrations for the 130th birthday of Dr. BR Ambedkar were organized in a great way here on Wednesday in Thummalapalli Kshetrayya Kala Kshetram.

During the meeting, Government Special Representative (GPM & AR) K. Praveen Kumar said that Dr. Ambedkar is a great leader and visionary who has been instrumental in reforming the disadvantaged and the working class.

“Dr. Ambedkar reduced workers’ hours in the country from 14 hours a day to eight hours. He was instrumental in introducing Employees State Insurance (ESI) to help workers with medical care,” he said.

“He worked out the Indian constitution in detail and left no room for ambiguity. The powers and role of the electoral commission were discussed in detail. There have been many elections in India over the past seven decades, but there has never been any controversy. Unlike in India, we saw what happened recently in the US during the power transition, ”he said.

Chief Secretary (Social Welfare) K. Sunitha, who chaired the meeting, said that Dr. Ambedkar emphasized the need to believe in the strength of oneself rather than happiness. AP Study Circles would reopen after the government found that private institutions were not giving priority to SCs and STs, she said.

Former Secretary General of Tripura U. Venkateswarlu, Tribal Welfare Secretary Kantilal Dande, Social Welfare Director I. Samuel Anand Kumar, Krishna District Collector K Madhavi Latha, and Joint Collector K Mohan Kumar participated in the program.
