BJP blames YSRCP, TDP for backwardness at Rayalaseema

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the YSR Congress Party and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of neglecting the Rayalaseema region, stating that the successive governments of the parties in the state are responsible for the region’s “persistent backwardness” .

BJP President Somu Veerraju spoke to the media on Tuesday as part of his campaign for the election of the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency, saying that the Rayalaseema region has become synonymous with drought and hunger.

“Who is responsible for that? National President of the TDP, N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should share the blame, ”he told the media.

Despite being part of the region, Jagan Mohan Reddy and Naidu have let people down by consistently ignoring local aspirations, he added.

Regarding the irrigation project in Polavaram, the BJP President said that after work began under the TDP regime in 2017, the center provided financial support of 15,000 crore. “Why are the decades-old Galeru Nagari, Handri Neeva and Telugu Ganga projects not yet completed, if not because of the official apathy of successive regimes? “He asked. Earlier in the day, Mr. Veerraju offered prayers at Thathayagunta Gangammatemple.
