Peddireddi accepts Naidu’s “referendum” challenge

Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy has accepted the referendum challenge thrown by TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu and has agreed to resign the YSRCP MPs if the party loses the by-election for the seat of the Tirupati LS.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Mr Ramachandra Reddy wanted to know if the TDP members would be eliminated if the YSRCP won the election.

When the opposition posed a problem with Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who chose not to participate in the campaign due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, he said it showed a leader’s responsibility for a social cause and not a sign of Reluctance was projected from part of the media.

“Our chief minister is our trump card and we will win the seat with a massive mandate by voting with Jagan Mohan Reddy’s picture,” he said.

Mr Ramachandra Reddy recalled that the Prime Minister had sent letters to each household explaining the welfare programs and called on voters to vote in favor of the party candidate.

He was strongly committed to the alliance between BJP and Jana Sena, calling Pawan Kalyan a “politically paid artist” who was out to beat mud and use false propaganda against the ruling party.

Similarly, he asked the BJP why the public should vote in favor of failing to keep bifurcation promises and betraying the state about the status of the special category.

“The YSRCP is the only convinced party that seeks the support of the people as it has fulfilled 90% of the promises made in the Manifesto,” he said.
