The Anantapur administration has only approved eight hospitals in the district to treat the coronavirus patients, and all of them offer treatment under the Aarogyasri program, Collector Gandham Chandrudu said Monday.
“If a hospital is found to be slaughtering patients in the name of COVID-19 treatment without the required permission, action will be taken against them. We have prepared 1,003 beds for the patients in view of the surge in the cases, ”said the collector.
Facilities that have been approved to treat COVID-19 include the Hindupur District Hospital (70 beds); General Government Hospital in Anantapur (165); District Hospital in Kadiri (50); Regional hospital in Guntakal (60); Super Specialty Hospital in Anantapur (300); Government Cancer Hospital (266); KIMS Saveera Hospital (10) and RDT Hospital in Bathalapalli (82 beds).
“These hospitals that treat COVID-19 patients without permission are booked in accordance with the Allopathy Hospital Registration and Epidemic Act,” said the collector.
