Fishing banned from April 15th, £ 10,000 aid to every fisherman

The state government has announced a ban on marine fishing for 61 days from April 15 to June 14 in AP territorial waters to ensure effective fishery resources and the preservation of marine biodiversity.

In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Farming and Fisheries to impose a uniform fishing ban on all fishing vessels in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), the official orders were issued.

Accordingly, fishing is prohibited from all mechanized vessels and fishing vessels with outboard and inboard motors (motorized fishing boats). However, the traditional non-motorized boats are exempt from the ban.

More than 2,000 mechanized and motorized boats will be kept from fishing in the sea during the embargo.

“The state government will give each fisherman a grant of £ 10,000 during the lockdown period,” said an official from the Department of Fisheries.
