“YSRCP wins Tirupati seat a foregone conclusion”

Over 90% of the promises implemented, claims K. Parthasarathi

The YSR Congress Party’s victory in the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election is a foregone conclusion as the people will vote for Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s good governance for the past 21 months, MLA K Parthasarathi said.

At a press conference here on Friday, the MLA said that despite a severe financial crisis due to COVID-19, the chief minister had delivered over 90% of the promises made in the party’s manifesto during his 21-month term.

“Unlike the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which deleted its manifesto after failing to keep its election promises, the YSRCP government has redefined welfare by doing more than it was promised,” Parthasarathi said.

Primarily for the welfare of the farmers, the state government had established over 10,641 Rythu Bharosa Kendras, from which over 15 lakh farmers were benefited by YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu, and over 4,000 crore had been given to farmers whose crops did not even reach the minimum support price, market interventions (MSP), increasing Rythu Bharosa’s financial assistance from £ 12,500 to £ 13,500, which was deposited directly into the farmer’s accounts, the MLA said.

Mr. Parthasarathi criticized the former TDP government for “placing the farmers in debt and failing to implement the loan waiver scheme they had promised”.

“Only 45 lakh people received pensions under the TDP government, while the YSRCP government provided 63 lakh people with pensions,” Parthasarathi said, asking why the TDP government refused to retire 20 lakh people.

Following the death of YS Vivekananda Reddy, Parthasarathi urged TDP leaders “to uncover the roles of Adinarayana Reddy and B. Tech Ravi in the killing”. He said TDP leaders are trying to defame the chief minister’s image by making baseless allegations to divert people’s attention.
