“1,000 beds identified for COVID treatment in Krishna”

As the incidence of COVID-19 infections increases in the district, 1,000 beds will be set up in state and private hospitals and a thousand more beds will be set up for COVID care centers, officials said.

District Collector A.Md. Imtiaz held a COVID-19 review meeting here on Tuesday. He asked affected officials to arrange 1,000 beds for COVID-19 treatment in state and private hospitals across the district.

He said 19 hospitals, including Government General Hospital, Machilipatnam District Hospital, Pinnameneni Siddhartha Medical College Hospital, Nimra Medical College Hospital and others, are being prepared.

Joint collector L. Siva Shankar said 1,000 beds in hospitals have been identified and arrangements have been made for COVID care centers to be set up. He said a district-level control room would be set up to guide COVID-19 patients. He said 2.80,000 doses of vaccine have been given in the district so far.

The district has 1,560 active cases as of Tuesday morning.
