Jagan pays tribute to Babu Jagjivan Ram

Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paid tribute to freedom fighter and former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 113th birthday here on Monday.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the life and times of Babu Jagjivan Ram showed that he had worked tirelessly for the good of the Dalits and the oppressed.

Minister Adimulapu Suresh, MP Nandigam Suresh, Advisor, Public Affairs Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and others were present.

Mayor Kavati Manohar Naidu and MLA Maddali Giridhar decorated a statue of Babu Jagjivam Ram in the city. Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy adorned a portrait of Babu Jagjivan Ram in the party’s headquarters and remembered his services to uplift the oppressed.

“Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy takes inspiration from such great leaders and works to improve poor and vulnerable populations. He reaches out to all populations through welfare systems,” he said.

Previously, Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy had presented a book entitled “Dharsanika Neta Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram”, a biography of Babu Jagjivan Ram written by Dr. Nutakki Ashok Kumar, a researcher at Acharya Nagarjuna University.

MLA Merugu Nagarjuna and YSRCP leaders Nandigam Suresh and Lella Appireddy were present on the occasion.
