Hundreds of followers of various denominations visited the Stuart Memorial Prayer Hall in Ongole on Sunday to celebrate Easter.
On this occasion, the believers sang songs in praise of Jesus Christ. Live sermons were shared on social media for the benefit of those who could not attend directly.
The devotees organized a colorful procession of Kabadipalem with tableaus highlighting the five milestones in the life of Jesus. The night owls also pop crackers to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The festival marked the end of Lent, a 40-day period of penance, fasting, and prayer.
The Jewett Memorial Baptist Church and Ramayapatnam Church, built in 1874 by the American Baptist Mission, were decorated for the occasion.
The parish priest of Ongole, Illuri Irudayaraj, presided over a special mass in the St. Theresa Church, attended by hundreds of Catholics. The Pentecostal Church and St. John Lutheran Church were also appropriately decorated.
