Youth killed, three injured in attack with knives

A youth was killed and three others injured in a broad daylight attack when construction workers allegedly attacked each other over a £ 100 argument. The incident occurred on Friday on the main road near a bar under the border of the Ajit Singh Nagar Police Station.

The deceased was identified as Boddupalli Nagaraju alias Pandu (31). Injured Shaik Hussain, Dodda Kishore and Shaik Rafi were hospitalized with multiple injuries. They came from the Vambay colony and Rajiv Nagar.

Sources say Nagaraju and his three friends reportedly made £ 2,000 after visiting work. When Nagaraju only got £ 400 instead of £ 500 as his share, a fight broke out at the bar on Thursday evening. Nagaraju returned with his friends Rafi, Hussain and Kishore to discuss the matter, and in a fit of anger, the three Kishore allegedly attacked with cutters (small knives) and other sharp weapons.

Nagaraju, who was badly injured in his neck, fell down. He died when he was taken to the hospital. The defendants, who were also injured, were hospitalized, Ajit Singh Nagar police said.

Accused in custody

Police took Hussain, Kishore and Rafi into custody and retrieved cutters used to commit the murder. They would be produced in court, said a police officer.

Panicked locals and shopkeepers ran helter-skelterers to protect themselves when group members attacked each other on the main street.

Four injured

In another incident, four youths were injured when two groups, mostly students, collided and attacked with blades on Friday in Dawajigudem on the outskirts of the city, allegedly because of a free game of fire.

The incident occurred near a school and the groups attacked each other in the streets with sticks and sharp weapons.
