Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke to Nagari MLA RK Roja, who was recovering from double surgery in a private hospital in Chennai, on Friday and asked about her health.
Her family members said Ms. Roja became emotional while expressing her inability to join the campaign for the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election.
Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly advised her to rest and told her that the party leaders would take care of the campaign.
The Prime Minister also praised Ms. Roja for her courageous initiatives to strengthen the party in her constituency and for the party’s recent victory in both Puttur and Nagari parishes.
In the meantime, the party cadre and fans of Ms. Roja performed a special puja in various temples in the mandals of Nindra, Nagari, Puttur, Vadamalapeta and Vijayapuram and prayed for her speedy recovery.
