Rajamahendravaram man scales Mt. Kilimanjaro

A 33-year-old climber from Rajamahendravaram, Achanta Umesh, has climbed the Uhuru peak – the highest point on the mountain. Kilimanjaro, on the African continent, on March 26 at 7:00 a.m. Indian Standard Time (IST).

Mr. Umesh shared his experience of climbing the mountain. Kilimanjaro at a press conference here on Friday: “The summit was a challenge reached at a temperature of -29 degrees Celsius recorded on March 26th at the Uhuru summit. I had the opportunity to unfold the national flag, 22 m wide and 33 m high, ”he said.

At an altitude of 5,895 meters above sea level is Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. It is a dormant volcano in Tanzania and the fourth largest topographically prominent peak in the world.

Umesh said he was preparing to climb Elbrus in Russia in June and thanked Rajamahendravaram city public officials for helping him achieve the mountaineering feat. Mr. Umesh is also an avid table tennis player.
