Bypoll will be fought on the ‘Jagan vs Janam’ plank, says GVL

The by-election in the constituency of Tirupati (SC) will be held on the “Jagan versus Janam” plank, said Rajya Sabha member and high-ranking BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao. “If elected, the BJP candidate will work for the good of ‘Janam’ (the people), but if the candidate of the YSR Congress Party is elected, he will work tirelessly for the good of ‘Jagan’ (which means that Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy)), “he said.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, he said the Tirupati constituency had seen phenomenal development by central means and called on the YSRCP and TDP to prove him wrong. “Only with the central funding were the national institutes, railroad tracks, national highways, seaports and industrial areas developed, but the regional parties continued to blow their trumpets in their favor,” he said.

Electronic clusters

Citing “never before” grants, Narasimha Rao said that of the 18 electronic manufacturing clusters allocated across India, three were sanctioned for the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency alone in the Srikalahasti and Satyavedu segments. Similarly, Tirupati and Nellore stations have been marked for beautification and development on another aircraft, he said.

Mr Rao admitted that the party had failed to some extent to get the message out, and railed against the former TDP regime and the current YSRCP exemption for attempting to hide the centre’s role from filing claims on all projects.

He pointed out that the TDP’s charisma was waning, noting that the party’s most recent founding day looked like a funeral gathering with darkness all over the place. He predicted it would be the final elections for the TDP in the state as they neared “political extinction”.
