TTD is planning Kalyanamasthu in each constituency of the assembly

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that it will carry out its “Kalyanamasthu” mass marriage program in every constituency of the Andhra Pradesh Congregation, despite adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. The maiden event takes place on May 28th from 12:34 pm to 12:40 pm, when the ‘Moola’ star is in vogue during Vaisakha month.

Senior executive KS Jawahar Reddy instructed officers on Tuesday to begin the process of accepting applications and registering them. At a review meeting with senior officials, he said the TTD had exercised caution and decided to hold the event at the congregation’s constituency level so as not to encourage large gatherings at the district headquarters that could create health and safety issues.

Three hundred prospective brides and grooms would bind the wedding in each district, for which the TTD would make coordinated efforts with the respective teams led by the district collectors. Each couple receives a golden ‘Mangalasutra’ weighing 2 g, a silk vastram, silver anklets (Mettelu), a series of books under ‘Pustaka Prasadam’, a laminated portrait of Sri Padmavati and Srinivasa.

The joint executive director Sada Bhargavi, the chief vigilance and security officer Gopinath Jatti, the financial advisor and chief account officer O. Balaji, the chief engineer Ramesh Reddy and the secretary of the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat (HDPP), K. Rajagopalan, were present.
