Delhi HC rejects petition to revoke recognition of YSRCP. from

The Delhi Supreme Court on Friday denied Anna YSR Congress’s motion calling for the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) to be withdrawn from its status as an “Recognized Party” and de-registered for using the acronym “YSR Congress Party”.

The YSR Congress Party is currently the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Anna YSR Congress, which claims to be a registered political party founded in Andhra Pradesh in September 2015, had stated in her petition that she had “illegally and unlawfully appropriated and used” the acronym “YSR Congress Party” YSR Congress violated party letterheads, campaign material and other party administration documents.

Anna YSR Congress claimed that the Election Commission gave the YSR Congress Party clear instructions in September 2010 to use the abbreviation “YSR Congress Party” as the party name.
