In order to make Sri City inclusive and sustainable, the industrial city administrations started a massive cleaning campaign in the neighboring villages on Thursday.

A large number of staff, including security guards, members of the Sri City Foundation, staff and the general public, led by Sarpanch Parvathi Sanyasaiah, participated in a cleanliness drive in Chengambakkam village. The trip produced a significant amount of plastic and other rubbish. Surendranath, senior officer of Panchayat Raj Department, Satyavedu, appealed to villagers to work with the Panchayat Secretary and volunteers to uphold the maintenance standards set by Sri City.

The founder and CEO of Sri City, Ravindra Sannareddy, called the action a significant step towards ensuring hygiene and sanitation, especially during the pandemic.

“We encourage the public to actively participate in maintaining a healthy environment in the villages and on Independence Day we will give prizes to villages that ensure general cleanliness,” he said.
