A 21-year-old girl was reportedly raped by three local youths while visiting a beach under the confines of the Amalapuram Police Department in East Godavari district with her boyfriend. The incident happened two weeks ago, but the victim filed a police complaint on Thursday. when one of the defendants threatened to share her nudes if she didn’t meet him in person.
According to police, the three defendants resorted to the heinous act after beating the victim’s friend when the duo tried to escape.
Amalapuram DSP Y. Madhav Reddy said they received a complaint from the victim and registered a case under the Disha Act. “Three special teams were used to catch the defendants,” he said The Hindu.
