India has developed into a world power under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said BJP President Somu Veerraju.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday after participating in the service activities that Mr. Modi celebrated to mark the completion of seven years as prime minister, the BJP leader said the Make-in-India campaign was helping the country made it possible to produce advanced weapons at affordable prices. The country has also become the vaccine center of the world, Veerraju said.
In terms of governance, Mr Modi’s record over the past seven years has been impeccable. The more than 40-year rule of the Congress party pales in comparison, he noted.
Mr Veerraju said India is now able to supply arms to buyers overseas and has gained the ability to export to other countries on the vaccine front.
He expressed his regret that some foreign self-interest media houses unleashed negative propaganda against the Modi government, but they could neither damage his image nor distract him from achieving his goals.
Regarding the YSRCP government’s performance over the past two years, Mr Veerraju said it was a complete failure, especially in containing the COVID-19 pandemic as there was basically no advanced plan to contain its spread.
The BJP asked the government to allocate 3,000 crore to contain the virus. Instead, huge sums of money are being spent on populist programs, he added.
“Family Centered Parties”
He alleged that the TDP’s national president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, partnered with Congress to beat up Mr. Modi. “It is nothing more than an insult to the backward classes that Mr Modi belongs to,” said Mr Veerraju.
Both the YSRCP and TDP are family-centered parties and their governments have become synonymous with corruption, he said.
